Addis Ababa January 31/2013 The 4.3km Meskel Square-Bole International Airport Road will open to traffic in May 2013, the Addis Ababa Roads Authority said.
Media professionals here Thursday visited different roads being constructed in the capital.
Authority General Manager, Engineer Fekade Haile on the occasion said utmost efforts are underway to finalize construction of the road before celebration of the 50th Golden Jubilee of the OAU/AU.
Eng. Fekade said electric power, water and telephone services, which were interrupted due to construction of the road, will begin operation soon.
He also said construction of light rail is underway side by side with the road construction being undertaken in the city.
Authority communication work process head, Sisay Workneh on his part said the city administration has allocated 1.3 billion Birr budget for construction of some 109 road projects and related activities.
