Gov't Pledges Support to Ethiopian Quality Award Organization Featured

Addis Ababa July 05/2017 The Ethiopian government has reportedly pledged to support the Ethiopian Quality Award Organization (EQAO) so that it could strengthen its effort to ensure quality.

EQAO Board Member and Chairperson of the Jury, Professor Abebe Dinku told journalists, after meeting Prime Minister Hailemeriam, today that the Premier  has promised to provide all the necessary support for the organization.

According to him, the discussion focused on ways of making the organization competitive at international level.

The government has been providing support for EQAO, but there is shortage of finance, Professor Abebe said.

The organization is undertaking various activities that would contribute to national development and it has been giving awards to companies categorized under 7 sectors, including construction, higher education, and hospital, among others.

The Ethiopian Quality Award Organization (EQAO) will undertake preparations to give the 5th round award by the end of August, he revealed.

Some 63 companies are expected to participate in the competition to win awards, it was learned.
