FIFA World Cup Trophy Arrives in Addis Ababa Featured

Addiss Ababa Feburary 25/2018 FIFA World Cup Trophy tenderly received on its arrival in Addis Ababa yesterday.

The golden 6.1 kilogram trophy, on a two day tour in the capital, will be visited by Ethiopian football fans.

Government officials including President Dr. Mulatu Teshome, Ethiopian Football Federation President Juneidin Basha and the Minister of Youth and Sports Restu Yirdaw have welcomed the trophy at Bole International Airport.

During the welcoming ceremony the President said that the onset of the trophy in Ethiopia will create inspiration among the youth and football fans.

The President also expressed his gratitude for the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) for selecting Ethiopia as one of destination country for the trophy’s tour.

Ethiopian Football Federation President, Juneidin Basha said the country’s role in the establishment of African Football confederation and the increasing numbers of football fans have contributed the country to be selected as the destination of the trophy.
Similarly, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ristu Yirada said that the trophy allows the international societies and countries play football without any difference.

According to FIFA, the trophy has been stay in Addis Ababa for two days including yesterday and today.

Upon its arrival, the trophy has been exhibiting by media and the fan of the game during consumer event at Hilton Hotel, Addis Ababa.

Ethiopia received the trophy From Sudan as it’s selected among 10 African countries to showcase the trophy.

According to FIFA, the trophy has been stay in Addis Ababa for two days including yesterday and will arrive Kenya on Monday.
