Addis Ababa March 31/2018 China would continue extending support to Ethiopia’s human resource development programs, Chinese Embassy in Addis Ababa disclosed.
Some 200 candidates will benefit from the human resource development support that includes post graduate and PhD programs in 2018.
Speaking on a briefing session on 2018 HRD programs, Economic and Commercial Office Counselor, Liu Yu said China has prepared training programs for Ethiopians for this year.
The Asian country has prepared 25 short-term training programs for Ethiopians for 2018 in various fields including industrial park management, investment promotion, railway management, poverty reduction and urban development areas.
“In the context of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries, China will keep striving to sponsor more Ethiopians to study in the county through win-win cooperation with Ethiopia in all cases,” she stressed.
The Counselor said Sino-Ethiopia relations have been fast tracking with a rapid progress in all areas of bilateral cooperation.
“Currently China has become the biggest trading partner with Ethiopia and the largest foreign investor in the country. What is worthy to mention is that, the relationship and cooperation between the two countries is far beyond trade and investment,” she pointed out.
The counselor also noted that Ethiopia is an important development partner of China.
State Minister for Public Service and Human Resource Development, Ayelech Eshete said China’s contribution to Ethiopia’s HRD will have a significant role in realizing development.
“The more we develop our human resource, the more we contribute to the country’s development and this in turn will strengthen the bi-lateral relations between the two countries” she explained.
Under the partnership between the two countries, more than 5,500 Ethiopians were participated in various training programs in China over the past five years.
