Addis Ababa February 07/2018 A delegation of People to People medical group has discussed today its plan to establish Cancer Center of Excellence in the Black Lion Hospital with President Mulatu Teshome.
Following the discussion, Representative of the group Dr. Enawgaw Mehari said the aim of establishing the comprehensive cancer care is to save time and reduce excessive expense of patients travelling abroad.
The establishment of the center will provide well equipped radiologists, pathologists, and other health experts, among others, he pointed out.
Executive Director of Mathiwos Wondu-YeEthiopia Cancer Society, Wondu Bekele said on his part "we have agreed to identify and provide well planed details that contain expected responsibilities from the government, NGOs and the public.”
President Mulatu said the government is ready to provide support for People to People since the project fits well with the strategy of the government on health sector.
Praising the commitment of the group, the President urged them to exert maximum effort for the realization of the project.
People to People, which was established in 1999 by the Ethiopian Diaspora members drawn from various countries, has over 55,000 members worldwide, it was indicated.
