"World-class" Fertility Clinic Inaugurated Featured

Addis Ababa February 07/2018 A fertility clinic that "provides the highest standard of infertility treatment across Asia Pacific and Africa" was inaugurated in Addis Ababa today.

The India-based Nova IVI Fertility Clinic will offer services related to infertility treatment for both men and women, including fertility evaluation, ultrasound monitoring, counseling and intrauterine insemination (IUI).

Nova IVI Fertility Clinic Chief Operating Officer, Vinesh Gadhia, told ENA that the clinic is going to provide "world-class treatment" with the same quality and standard given in Europe or any other branches at fair price.

The clinic was inaugurated in the presence of Ethiopian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and professionals.

Gynecologists and Obstetrician, Dr. Mekonnen Negash said physicians in the area would no more send couples for fertility test abroad as the treatment can be given in the clinic.

The service will bring new technologies to the sector, knowledge and experience sharing as well as job opportunity, he added.

Upon going fully operational the clinic will have over 70 employees, it was learned.

Nova IVI Fertility Clinic has branches in Kenya, Nigeria and Tanzania in Africa.

The prevalence of infertility rate in Ethiopia is estimated to be 20 percent of the population in the reproductive age struggle to conceive a child naturally.

An increasing number of couples suffer from infertility owning to disorganized lifestyle, unhealthy habits, and growing incidence of other diseases like obesity, cancer, late marriages, mental and physical stress, among others.
