Addis Ababa April 15/2018 Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said that his government is committed to ensure the benefit and participation of the youth from the nation's development.
Premier Abiy today addressed some 25,000 representatives of the society drawn from all parts of the country in Addis Ababa Millennium Hall.
Officials from Federal and regional governments, women, youth, religious leaders, heads of institutions of higher education, scholars, elites, representatives of the diplomatic community and artists presided over the meeting.
Speaking at the welcoming ceremony, Premier Abiy said that the youth are facing various challenges including unemployment which leads to migration, criminal and diverse addictions.
According to him, his government will work to overcome these challenges that the youth are facing.
He reaffirmed that ensuring the active participation of the youth will be the key agenda of the government.
Moreover, the government is committed to promote the participation of different opposition political parties towards building consensus through dialogue, he said.
The gathering aimed at working closely with the public to build peace and democracy, ensure good governance, and step up national development.
