Addis Ababa Janwary 14/2018 The 6th Ethiopian and Egyptian joint commission meeting will be held this week, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ethiopian delegation will be led by Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn to attend the meeting that is to begin on January 18, 2018 in Cairo.
The meeting of the joint commission provides the parties the opportunity to hold consultations in bilateral, continental and international issues, the statement added.
Agreements in industry and mining sectors are also expected to be signed during the meeting.
Discussions between ministers of the countries will be held ahead of the leaders meeting and those are expected to boost the Ethio-Egyptian relation, it was indicated.
Agreements that enable Ethiopia and Egypt to work jointly in education, health, technical training, women affairs, and capacity building in diplomacy were signed at the 5th joint commission meeting three years ago.
This joint commission meeting will evaluate the implementation of the cooperation agreements signed at the prior meeting.
Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs Minister Workneh Gebeyehu has left for Sudan today.
During his stay in Khartoum, the minister will hold talks with high level Sudanese officials about the economic, political and social relations of the two countries.
