UAE Pledges to Shore Up Ethiopia’s Economic Growth Featured

Addis Ababa January 10/2018 The United Arab Emirates will support Ethiopia's economic development, according to UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

This was disclosed during the meeting held between Foreign Affairs Minister Workneh Gebeyehu and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan today.

According to the website of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan said UAE is keen to prop up Ethiopia's remarkable economic trajectory by  giving particular weight to the infrastructure sector of the country.

He specifically expressed the commitment of the UAE Government to speed up the finalization of Gedeo-Lemlem road in Oromia Regional State.

Foreign Affairs Minister Workneh Gebeyehu praised UAE's concern to buttress the economic growth in his country adding that his Government is committed to further heighten the bilateral ties by mapping out new areas of cooperation.

In related news, the Minister said Ethiopia will take part in United Arab Emirates Expo 2020.

Foreign Affairs Minister Workneh Gebeyehu told Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimy that Ethiopia will participate actively in the exposition, a press release of the ministry stated.

Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimy said on her part that the expo is a good opportunity to connect the United Arab Emirates with the entire world.

It will also be a good opportunity for Ethiopia to introduce its culture, history, and investment potential.
