Addis Ababa May 11/2017 Ethiopia will support Libya to bring peace and stability in the country and share its experience in ensuring the same, President Mulatu Teshome said.
The president bade farewell today to the departing Libyan Ambassador to Ethiopia, Mahfud R. Rahiam.
During the occasion, President Mulatu said the instability in Libya is a global threat that Ethiopia will help to tackle.
The threat could be tackled by preventing the convergence of terrorists to Libya, he noted.
The two sides also discussed ways to bolster cooperation in areas of mutual interest such as human resources development and aviation.
The departing ambassador on his part briefed the President about the efforts underway by the government of Libya to implement the agreement reached to establish a coalition government.
The Ambassador said his country needs the support of Ethiopia, African Union and the international community to resolve the existing differences and create a condition that will lead to political agreement.
The ambassador said that his four-year tenure in Ethiopia was successful.
