Addis Ababa March 18/2017 Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh has travelled back home after a successful state visit to Ethiopia.

Foreign Minister Dr Workneh Gebeyehu saw off the President at the Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa.

President Guelleh's visit will help to further consolidate ties between the two countries, Dr Workneh said.

The Minister said that the bilateral relationship between the two countries is based on mutual benefit. That's the basic reason which helped the two countries maintain strong ties.

The role that President Guelleh has contributed for the strong relationship is vital, he added.

The fact that 90 percent of Ethiopia's import and export goes through Djibouti, makes the partnership between the two countries critical, Dr Workneh added.

He assured that the governments of the two countries will work hard to further consolidate this partnership.

During his stay, the President has delivered a spech to the House of Peoples' Representatives and discuss with Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn on bilateral and issues of mutual concern.

The President along with Prime Minister Hailemariam has also laid a cornerstone for the construction of residence for Ambassadors of Djibouti in Addis Ababa.
