Addis Ababa December 14/2017 International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde, who is on an official visit here in Ethiopia, has visited Dukem Industrial Park today.
In her media briefing after the visit, Lagarde said she has come to Ethiopia to witness about the industrial parks development and the determination of Ethiopian government to support growth and make sure there is a plenty of export.
“I am really pleased to have seen some international companies from China and the Netherlands, manufacturing to international standards for export purposes”, she elaborated.
She stated that the integrated training, employment and value added manufacturing activities all will hopefully help to have sustainable export.
Lagarde also said it was important to know the government of Ethiopia is striving to achieve the Second Growth and Transformation Plan.
The Ethiopian authorities are clearly trying to provide infrastructure and the comfortable road that we took from Addis Ababa to Dukem, she stated.
She noted that the strong combination of the public and private sectors play a vital role in enhancing sustainable and inclusive development of the country.
