Addis Ababa December 06/2017 The fifth Addis Agrofood – the exhibition on agriculture, agricultural machinery, food technologies and packaging – will be kicked off in Addis Ababa on Friday.
The exhibition offers great opportunities for industry professionals where global manufacturers of food technologies, agricultural machineries and packing meet local business partners.
Some 73 companies from Ethiopia, France, Germany, India, Italy, Kenya, and Turkey are expected to participate in the Addis Agrofood exhibition which will be held at the Millennium Hall from 8-11 December 2017.
The annual trade fair is targeted to promote new technologies and packing system to the Ethiopian market said Haimanot Tesfaye, Managing Director of Ethel Advertising and Communication – co-organizer of the event.
It would also help in promoting technology and knowledge transfer, as there is a huge potential for a partnership between foreign and local companies, she added.
Project manager of Ladin Fair and Congress Organization, co-organizer of the tradefair, Mert Gul said as agriculture is boosting in Ethiopia, there is a huge potential in this sector and agriculture and food packaging will be the future of Ethiopia.
According to him, the trade fair will allow the introduction of new technologies that contribute to the development of the sector.
“Ethiopia is soon going to produce its own machineries regarding all sectors. Ethiopia is the strongest country of Africa, people are good and manpower is good. We believe that Ethiopia will be the leader of Africa. So very soon, everything will be done through Ethiopian by themselves” he added.
The manager said that there are companies that started their investment in Ethiopia in food and milk processing after participated at the exhibition in the past.
The number companies that are taking place at the annual trade fair has been increasing, reaching 73 this year from 65 last year.
