Addis Ababa August 03/2017 A Chinese business delegation drawn from six companies is exploring investment opportunities in building low-cost houses and industrial park as well as generating power from waste in Ethiopia.
Delegation leader He Liehui, Chairman of Touchroad International Holdings Group, held talks today with Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn.
The Premier, who described the visit as an extension of the strategic partnership of the countries, assured the companies that all the necessary support will be provided for them in line with Ethiopia’s investment policy which was revised four times in the last two decades in favor of investors.
The delegation leader, He Liehui, said the companies want to set up waste treatment plant to generate power and also build a lot of low-cost houses around industrial park.
According to Liehui, though the companies are interested to engage currently in these areas they are more than interested to invest in other fields too.
The delegation leader stated that Ethiopia is a very big country with very big population, and the government is very serious to develop the economy.
Noting the strong political commitment of the government and other opportunities, Liehui said “we believe Ethiopia will grow fast and we don’t want to miss this opportunity to involve and grow together”.
Large number of population, good and applicable policies, and a strong political will of the government are among the advantages that the companies considered in exploring investment here.
