Woldiya March 14/2013 More than 280 million tree seedlings are being nurtured in North Wollo Zone, Amhara State, the zonal agriculture department said.
The department said the seedlings will be transplanted in the coming main rainy seasons.
It said 52 per cent of the seedlings are indigenous.
Forest coverage has now increased to 9.46 per cent from below three per cent ten years before.
Over 97,750 hectares land is covered with forest in the area, the department said.
