Nekempt March 13/2013 Construction of 30km gravel road is underway in Limu Woreda, East Wollega Zone of Oromia State with over 22 million Birr through the Universal Rural Road Access Project (URRAP), the woreda roads authority said.
The authority said the road interconnects 12 localities.
It said so far 55 per cent of construction of the road is completed.
The regional government allocated over 11.9 million Birr of the stated sum while the woreda and the public contributed the balance for construction of the road.
Upon going fully operational in the current Ethiopian year, the road will benefit more than 62,000 people, it said.
URRAP is part of the Growth and Transformation Plan designed to construct roads interconnecting all rural localities in the country.
