Hawasa March 11/2013 More than 146 million Birr revenue has been collected from different income titles in Sidame Zone, South Ethiopia Peoples' State over the last seven months, the zonal revenue authority branch office said.
Branch Office Head, Teshale Bulado said the revenue is collected from direct and indirect taxes, municipality services, value added taxes and non tax.
He said the amount surpasses by over 13 million Birr that of same period in the previous year.
The growth in the revenue resulted from raised awareness among tax payers, implementation of modern tax and information system, among others.
The office has plan to collect over 344 million Birr during the current Ethiopian budget year.
