Bahir Dar March 05/2013 More than 200,000 mothers in West Gojjam Zone of Amhara Regional State have benefited from family planning service during the last six months, the zonal health department said.
Planning and Monitoring Expert with the department, Getaneh Zewde told ENA on Monday that the department planned to enable 429,450 mothers get access to the service during the current Ethiopian budget year.
Awareness on family planning is growing among the public from time to time, Getaneh said, adding, activities are underway to enable additional mothers benefit from the service during the second half of the year.
The department is also working to reduce mothers’ mortality rate, he said .
