Addis Ababa March 04/2013 Deputy Speaker of the House of Federation (HoF), Mohammed Reshid said Ethiopia is striving to further strengthen ongoing activities to build democracy and maintain good governance.
While holding talks with a delegation of the UK International Development Committee here Monday, Mohammed said the country is implementing decentralized administration system based on its real situation.
He said citizens have democratic rights to participate in the country's economic, political and social affairs.
Mohammed said there are more than 70 political parties in the country and democratic election is the only means to come to power.
He also briefed members of the delegation on the structure and responsibilities of the HoF on the occasion.
Members of the delegation on their parts said that Ethiopia has managed to register rapid economic growth and expressed readiness to work with the country.
