Addis Ababa March 03/2013 Ethiopia secured over 1.7 billion USD from export of different products during the last seven months, the Trade Ministry said.
Public Relation and Communication Affairs Head with the Ministry, Amakele Yimam told ENA that gold and coffee are the major export items during the reported period.
Amakele said foreign currency secured from export of different products including 'Khat' , oil seeds, cereals, live animals and cut flowers, leather and leather products, textile and garment, meat, vegetables and fruits as well as spices is contributing share towards success of the Growth and Transformation Plan.
The plan is to secure five billion USD from export trade during the current Ethiopian budget year.
