Farmers secure 57 mln. Birr from sesame sale

  Ambo February 25/2013 More than 3500 farmers in Abuna Gindeberet Woreda, West Shoa Zone of Oromia State secured 57 million Birr from sale of over 21,350 quintals sesame in 2004/05E.C. crop season, the woreda agriculture office said. Agriculture extension work process coordinator with the office, Bedada Ararsa told ENA that the stated amount of sesame was harvested from an area of 2669 hectares land. Development agents are providing relevant training to the farmers with a view to enabling them become successful in their activities. Some farmers on their parts said support being provided by development agents helped them to ensure food security.
