Sodo February 23/2013 Construction of health facilities in underway in Wolayta Zone, South Ethiopia Peoples State with over 90 million Birr, the zonal health department said on Friday.
Development and planning work process coordinator with the department, Negatu Sharicho told ENA that the regional government allocated the budget for construction of the health facilities, which include, hospitals and health stations.
The hospitals are being constructed in the capitals of Bale, Halale, Bonbe and Bitina woredas.
Negatu said construction of the facilities is expected to be finalized at the end of the current Ethiopian year.
Upon going fully operational, the facilities will benefit more than half a million people, he said, adding, they will also help to raise zonal health service coverage to 99 per cent from the present 97.4 per cent.
