Dessie February 23/2013 Construction of safe water project is underway in Akesta Town, Legambo Woreda of South Wollo zone in Amhara State with over 43 million Birr, the woreda water, mines and energy office said.
Office Head Wondwossen Yimer told ENA that construction of the project is expected to be completed in the coming two years.
The Head said the regional government allocated the fund for construction of the project, which will benefit more than 34,000 people for twenty years.
The project includes digging of deep water well, he said.
