Natural resource conservation underway on over 20,000 ha. land

  Bale February 16/2013 More than 35,000 people are undertaking natural resource conservation activities on over 20,000 hectares depleted land in Medewelabu Woreda, Bale Zone of Oromia State, the woreda pastoralist community development office said. Office Representative, Hussein Kedir said construction of terraces and ditches is underway as part of the activities. Hussein said efforts will be carried out to restore depleted forests in the areas. Similar activities were undertaken on over 18,000 hectares land in the woreda last year.
