Goba February 14/2013 Some 51km rural road is being constructed in Medewelabu Woreda, Bale Zone of Oromia State with over 17 million Birr through the Universal Rural Road Access Project (URRAP), the woreda roads authority said.
Authority Head, Mamuye Belayneh said efforts are underway to complete construction of the road until the end of the current Ethiopian budget year.
Mamuye said the road, which links five localities with main road, will significantly contribute towards socio-economic development in the area.
Over 36km rural road was constructed through the program last year in the woreda.
URRAP is part of the five- year Growth and Transformation Plan. It is designed to construct roads interconnecting all rural localities in the country.
