Assela February 12/2013 The Arssi Zone Branch Office of the Oromia Credit And Saving Share Company said it has provided over 35.7 million Birr loan to more than 7000 beneficiaries during the first half of the current Ethiopian budget year.
Office Manager, Hussein Hibu said on Tuesday that the stated number of people in 24 woredas of the zone received the loan during the reported period.
The beneficiaries are engaged in animal husbandry and fattening as well as trade, among others.
The amount of loan provided to the beneficiaries during the reported period exceeded by more than 12.8 million Birr that of same time last year.
Over one million Birr loan was also provided to government employees for construction of residential houses.
Some of the beneficiaries in Tiyo Woreda of the Zone said that they managed to improve their livelihoods.
