Hossana February 07/2013 Some 900 hectares land is being developed through irrigation in Angacha Woreda, Kembata Tembaro Zone of South Ethiopia Peoples' State in the current Ethiopian budget year, the woreda agriculture office said.
The office told ENA that so far 700 hectares of the stated area of land has been developed in the first round irrigation development activity.
It said the remaining area of land will be developed within the next two months.
Some 112,700 quintals output is expected to be harvested from the stated area of land. The amount will exceed by 41,000 quintals that of same time last year.
Some 10,000 farmers are engaged in irrigation development in the woreda.
Some farmers on their parts said that they managed to improve their livelihoods through engaging in irrigation development.
