Goba February 07/2013 Some 13,000 pastoralists in Harena Bulk Woreda , Bale Zone of Oromia State have secured more than 34 million Birr income from sale of fattened animals during the first six months of this fiscal year, the woreda pastoralist community development office said.
Office Head, Ashenafi Hailu told ENA that the pastoralists obtained the stated sum from sale of 18,000 fattened animals.
He said activities are underway to enable the pastoralists get additional income by supplying 9,500 fattened animals to the market in this fiscal year.
Last year, more than 9,000 pastoralists had secured over 19 million Birr net profit from sale of fattened animals, he said.
