Bahir Dar February 05/2013 Construction of safe water facilities is underway in Bure Woreda, West Gojjam Zone of Amhara State with over 2.7 million Birr, the woreda water resource development office said.
The office told ENA that upon going fully operational at the end of the current Ethiopian budget year, the facilities will benefit more than 24,000 people.
The facilities include, among others, digging of water wells and development of springs.
The public in the area contributed labour, material and financial support valued at over 706,000 Birr while the government and NGOs covered the balance for construction of the facilities, it said.
