Addis Ababa February 04/2013 The House of Peoples' Representatives stressed the need for the Federal Environmental Protection Authority to further strengthen ongoing efforts to build a climate-resilient green economy.
Environmental Protection Affairs Standing Committee of the House here Monday evaluated a half year performance report of the Authority.
Standing Committee Chairperson, Dr. Kebede Kanchula on the occasion said capacity building trainings on agriculture, forestry, energy and reducing carbon emissions, among others, need to be encouraged.
Authority deputy director-general, Dessalegn Mesfin on his part said various activities are underway to build climate resilient green economy.
Dessalegn said accordingly 14 hectares depleted land is restored while 356 unemployed youth have constructed 12.70km terraces as part of the activities.
