Addis Ababa February 03/2013 Centers established to provide a one-window electronic billing service were inaugurated here Sunday.
The centers will provide service called ‘Lehulu’ , which means ‘for all’.
The service will enable customers to make electric, water and telephone bill payments at a single centre.
Communications and Information Technology Minister, Dr. Debretsion Gebremichael on the occasion said the new service will be provided to the public at 31 centers.
Dr. Debretsion said such service will be expanded to regional capitals.
He said customers will be able to get the services at the centers on extra hours including on Saturdays.
Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation CEO, Mihiret Debebe on his part said the Corporation has been working in collaboration with different institutions with a view to providing efficient services to the public.
Mihiret said the new service will help the Corporation to increase the number of clients.
Ethio telecom CEO, Bruno Duthoit on his part said the service will Ethio telecom to undertake integrated and successful activities.
Addis Ababa Water and Sewerage Authority Manager, Assegid Getachew also said the service will help clients save time and money.
It took over 100 million Birr to put in place the system, which created more than 400 jobs.
