Authority secures over 66 mln. Birr

  Addis Ababa February 03/2013 The Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority said over 66 million Birr was secured from navigation and also from different airlines flying within the country's airspace during the first half of the current Ethiopian budget year alone. The Authority told ENA that the amount exceeded by 9 per cent that of same period last year. It said the country has amended bilateral air transport service agreements signed earlier with Egypt, Niger, Gabon and Zimbabwe with a view to improving air transport service. Meanwhile, discussion is underway to amend similar agreements signed with Sudan, South Sudan, Nigeria and Tanzania. The Authority also said it has carried out commendable activities in aviation safety and providing efficient air transport service to passengers during the reported period.
