Addis Ababa February 03/2013 The Federal Micro and Small-Scale Enterprises Development Agency said it has provided over 1.1 billion Birr loan to nearly 249,000 beneficiaries during the first half of the current Ethiopian year.
Public Relation Coordinator with the Agency, Assefa Ferede told ENA that 48.5 per cent of the stated number of beneficiaries are females.
Assefa said the number of beneficiaries has increased by close to 225,000 compared to that of same time in the previous year.
The Coordinator said loan service beneficiaries managed to save over 575 million Birr following activities carried out to encourage saving culture.
The amount surpasses by over 540 million Birr that of same time last year, he said.
