Farmers secure over 38.6 mln. Birr from fattened animals' sale

  Bahir Dar February 2/2013 Some 14,450 farmers engaged in animal fattening in West Gojjam Zone of Amhara State secured over 38.6 million Birr net profit from sale of over 21,870 fattened animals during the last six months, the woreda agriculture office said. The office told ENA that the income helped the farmers to improve their livelihoods. It said the number of farmers engaging in animal fattening is increasing from time to time. There is plan to enable the farmers supply over 11,580 fattened animals to market. More than 11,600 farmers engaged in similar activity had secured over 20 million Birr net profit last year, according to the office.
