Over 200km cobblestone alleys constructed in Addis

  Addis Ababa January 26/2013 Over 200km cobblestone alleys were constructed in Addis Ababa during the last six months, the city cobblestone project coordination office said. Office deputy manager, Wondatir Abay told ENA that over 185km of the stated road was constructed with participation of the public while the remaining was undertaken with the budget allocated by the government. He said construction of the alleys created jobs for more than 23,000 unemployed citizens. More than 113,000 youth engaged in cobblestone work in the city since 2002E.C have managed to become self-supportive. The public are showing increased interest to participate in the construction of cobblestone alleys, he said.
