Gonder January 17/2013 Gelegu Town, which is capital of Quara Woreda in North Gondar Zone of Amhara State has got access to round- the -clock electric power service, the woreda administration said.
The town benefited from the service following installation of 80km electric cables from Metema Woreda.
Woreda Chief, Bitew Asaye told ENA on Wednesday that the service will help to further strengthen investment in the area.
Residents of the town on their parts lauded efforts of the government to enable the town benefit from the service.
The residents expressed belief that business and investment activities will be enhanced in the town.
More than 60,000 people live in the town, according to documents.
The woreda is suitable for sesame and cotton development.
