Addis Ababa January 14/2013 Some 150 journalists drawn from governmental and private media here on Friday visited the Ethiopian Air Force, Dejen Aviation and Bishoftu Automotive Industries under the auspices of Metals and Engineering Corporation (METEC).
Some of the journalists told ENA that the visit helped them to learn that the activities being undertaken by the industries have been playing great role in technology transfer and building the capacity of the Defense Force.
The journalists said the Defense Force is contributing towards success of the country's plan to transform its agriculture led economy to industry led through various activities which require the use of advanced technologies.
Berhanu Alemu and Yalem Belay, journalists from the Ethiopian Radio and Television Agency said that they are proud of the activities they observed in the industries.
Barekelegn Zerihun, a journalist from Walta Information Center, on his part said the visit helped him to see the role that the Defense Force is playing in undertaking development activities, which benefit the public.
Dejen Aviation and Bishoftu Automotive Industries are two of the several industries established under the METEC.
The two industries are working hard to increase the capacity of the Defense Force through upgrading and producing military vehicles and aircrafts as well as assembling various automotives.
