Federation working to enable Ethiopia become middle income country

  Addis Ababa January 13/2013 The Ethiopian Employers' Federation said it is contributing share in the ongoing efforts to enable Ethiopia join the list of middle income countries in the world. The Federation here Saturday organized a 6km walk in connection with its 60th anniversary. Speaking on the occasion, Federation President, Tadele Yimer said that the Federation is striving to extricate the country from poverty. Tadele said it is working together with the government and employees in the efforts to maintain sustainable industrial peace. He said it will further exert utmost efforts to speed up development. Tadele said celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Federation will help to further strengthen common understanding and build good images. Labour and Social Affairs Minister, Abdulfetah Abdulahi on his part said employers are contributing share in development activities in the country. Abdulfetah said the government will provide the necessary support to the federation in its efforts towards development. The Federation was first established during the reign of Emperor Haile Selassie I. However, it was dissolved in 1974 during the Derg Regime. The Federation was re-established after 20 years.
