Dessie January 13/2013 Some 15 million Birr loan is allocated to engage over 10,000 unemployed youth in different income generating activities in Kombolcha Town, South Wollo Zone of Amhara State in the current Ethiopian year, the town administration said.
Town Administration Mayor, Abere Abera said efforts are underway in collaboration with the government, investors and stakeholders to reduce unemployment in the town.
The Mayor said providing loan service and training to youth and women in particular is part of the ongoing efforts of the government towards the same purpose.
Some youth on their parts said unemployed youth organized in associations managed to improve their livelihoods through engaging in different income generating activities.
