Dilla January 12/2013 Some 228km road is being constructed in in six woredas of Gedeo Zone, South Ethiopia Peoples' State during the current Ethiopian budget year, the zonal road transport main department said.
Department Head, Fikru Daniel told ENA that the road interconnects different localities and woredas in the zone.
Fikru said the public have been contributing labour support for construction of the road.
Roads Design, Monitoring and Supervision Expert with the Department, Eng. Ermias Kinfu on his part said the regional government allocated over 272 million Birr for construction of the road, which will be undertaken in two phases.
Eng. Ermias said so far most of the work on 116km of the stated road is finalized.
He said the remaining work will be completed ahead of the end of the current Ethiopian budget year.
