Assela January 09/2013 Construction of health facilities being undertaken in Arssi Zone of Oromia State with an outlay of more than 157 million Birr is well in progress, the zonal health department said.
Department Head, Negussie Kebede told ENA that four hospitals and six health stations are being constructed in ten towns and woredas of the zone.
Up on going fully operational at the end of this Ethiopian fiscal year, the facilities are expected to benefit more than 970,000 people and raise the health service coverage to 92 percent from the present 85 percent.
Nearly 580 health stations have so far been constructed in the zone over the past couple of years, he said, adding, the facilities have benefited close to three million people.
