Hawassa January 09/2013 Construction of four hospitals launched in Kembata Tembaro Zone, South Ethiopia Peoples' State at a cost of more than 80 million Birr is well underway, the zonal disease prevention and health promotion work process coordinator, Markos Gurmamo said.
Markos told ENA that construction of the hospitals is being undertaken in four woredas of the zone.
Up on going fully operational at the end of the current Ethiopian fiscal year, the hospitals will benefit more than 220,000 people.
The construction of the hospitals will raise the health service coverage of the zone to 100 percent from the present 95 percent, he said.
According to him, the government and the World Bank covered the cost for construction of the hospitals.
