Addis Ababa October 13/2013 Agriculture Bureau of Oromia State said it has set target to harvest 177 million quintals output during the 2005/06 production year.
Bureau Head, Zelalem Gemaneh told ENA that the stated amount of output is expected to be harvested from over 5.9 million hectares land.
Some 95 percent of the stated land has so far covered with wheat, maize, teff, barley and sorghum, among others.
The State had harvested over 79.4 million quintals output during the 2005 dry season, bega, (October to February), he said.
According to him, the stated amount of output had harvested from over 852,000 hectares land developed through irrigation.
