Gambella September 18/2013 Various development projects will be carried out in Gambella State at a cost of over 225 million Birr during the current Ethiopian fiscal year, the regional finance and economic development bureau said.
Public relation head with the bureau Messay Tsigie said Tuesday that the projects, which are expected to benefit more than 100,000 people, will be undertaken with the budget allocated by the federal government to achieve the MDGs.
Messay said the projects are in the areas of health, agriculture, education, road construction and safe water provision.
Accordingly, hospitals and health posts as well as veterinary posts, irrigation dams and over 190km roads will be constructed while expansion of nearly ten primary schools, digging of close to 200 water wells and development of springs, among others, will be undertaken.
The projects will contribute towards success of the Growth and Transformation Plan and achieve the MDGs.
Most of the projects are expected to go operational during the budget year, he said.
