Addis Ababa September 13/2013 The Ethiopian Airlines has won the Passenger Choice Awards for “Best Regional Airline in Africa” at a gala event held in Anaheim, California on 9 September 2013, a press release the Airline sent to ENA on Friday said.
The U.S. based Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) created the Passenger Choice Awards to give voice to airline passengers.
APEX encompasses a network of professionals that are committed to providing an outstanding airline experience for passengers around the globe.
Ethiopian CEO, Tewolde Gebremariam said this is a strong confirmation that Ethiopian has become an airline of choice by millions of customers.
He affirmed that Ethiopian will continue to expand its strong network of connectivity of 76 international destinations in five continents operated with one of the youngest and most modern fleet.
Ethiopian in-flight magazine, Selamta, was also a finalist among the five best worldwide airline magazines at the Passenger Choice Awards of 2013, the Airline said.
In its operations in the past close to seven decades, Ethiopian has become one of the continent’s leading carriers, unrivalled in efficiency and operational success.
Ethiopian has the lion’s share of the pan-African passenger and cargo network operating the youngest and most modern fleet to more than 76 international destinations across five continents.
Ethiopian fleet includes ultra-modern and environmentally friendly aircraft such as the Boeing 787, Boeing 777-200LR, Boeing 777-200LR Freighter and Bombardier Q-400 with double cabin. In fact, Ethiopian is the first airline in Africa to own and operate these aircraft.
