Addis Ababa August 30/2013 The Addis Ababa Youth Federation called on the youth to take part in the demonstration scheduled for Sunday to condemn religious fundamentalism and extremism.
In a joint press conference they gave here Friday, officials of the Federation called on the youth to join the demonstration organized by the Inter Religious Council of Ethiopia (IRCE) against religious extremism.
They urged the youth to join the rally to express disapproval of the destructive acts being carried out by extremists.
They said peace loving youth must rally to Meskel Square on Sunday to express love to peace, tolerance, unity and development of the country.
The Inter Religious Council of Ethiopia last Monday told journalists that it has organizing a demonstration to against religious extremism.
The council said religious extremism in Ethiopia has been growing stirred by individuals with hidden political agendas who were using religion as pretext.
The Council has organized many peaceful conferences in different parts of the country, especially in the capital with the aim of creating awareness about the threats facing on religious unity.
