jijiga, March 13, 2010 (jijiga) - The Somali State Branch Office of the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) said preparation has been finalized to dispatch election materials to woredas for the upcoming general election in the state. Office head Mohammed Habib told ENA that 2.5 million electorate is expected to take voters ID cards.
He said registration of voters would be carried out from March 19 to April 8 , 2010.
Mohammed said the office has launched activities to establish polling stations in woredas of the state.
The head said training is being offered to election executives on election code of conduct and related issues.
He called up on electorates and party candidates as well as private candidates to take its voters’ ID cards and to be registered as per the schedule respectively.
