Candidates and representatives of political parties in Batu and Shashemene towns said the voters and candidates of registration process were peaceful and democratic.

Candidates and representatives of Ethiopian Democratic Party (EDP), All Ethiopian Unity Organization (AEUO), Ethiopian Ray Party (ERP) and Oromo Abo Liberation Front (OALF) said they have witnessed the process of registration of voters and candidates were fair and democratic.

AEUO representative in Batu town Tesfaye Girma, EDP’s candidate for federal parliament Deresse Daba and ERP’s candidate for regional council Dekisiso Geleto said registration of voters and candidates were peaceful and democratic.

Tesfaye said AEUO is promoting its objectives and program to the public peacefully.

Deresse said EDP has opened its office in the town and is campaigning.

OALF’s candidate for federal parliament in Shashemene town Yacob Bediye on his part said his party would discharge its responsibility to make the election peaceful, democratic and truthful.

Batu constituency coordinator Zelelew Sisay on his part said list of candidates in the constituency is on board for the public.
