East Gojjam Zone, March 11, 2010 (Debremarkos) - Three opposition parties contesting in East Gojjam Zone of Amhara State have opened offices in various towns of the zone to introduce their objectives to the public.Representatives of AEUO, EDP, UDJ said the parties have opened offices in various towns in the zone.
Zonal AEUO Chairperson, Lieutenant Yohannes Abate said his party has opened 16 offices.
He said the party has fielded 18 candidates for parliamentary seats and 36 other nominees for seats in regional councils.
Zonal UDJ Vice Chairman, Captain Yeshiwas Yihun on his part said his party has opened offices in seven woredas of the zone.
He said the party has been undertaking its activities without any problem.
The party has fielded 16 candidates for parliamentary seats and 32 others for regional council seats.
Zonal EDP representative, Andargachew Andualem also said the party has opened an office at a zonal level.
EDP has fielded 18 candidates for parliamentary seats and 36 nominees for regional councils.
He said EDP has been offering awareness raising education to its members and supporters on the election code of conduct for political parties.
