Minister: America’s support for Ethiopia’s human resource development encouraging
Addis Ababa, May 14, 2009 (Addis Ababa) -

America’s support for Ethiopia’s human resource development program is praiseworthy, said Water Resource Minister Asfaw Dingamo.

The minister made the statement here on Thursday at the closing of a two-week training on advanced hydrologic modeling.

For two weeks American water resource experts have trained 15 Ethiopian engineers, hydro-geologists and hydrologists.

The minister said America was providing encouraging assistance to Ethiopia’s effort in developing the capacity of skilled workers under the national endeavors to alleviate poverty.

Development partners have great role in getting the necessary human power for the development of Ethiopia’s huge untapped natural resource, he added.

The United States and Ethiopia recently agreed to lay the groundwork for watershed management study in Ogaden region of Eastern Ethiopia.
